Pakistan Allegedly Launches New Wave of Drone Attacks on Indian Territory

On Friday night, Pakistan allegedly launched a fresh wave of drone strikes against India, escalating cross-border tensions. Witnesses reported multiple projectiles and bright flashes lighting up the night sky over Jammu, while ten loud explosions shook areas near the Srinagar airport. Simultaneously, the Punjab city of Amritsar witnessed vivid flashes from intercepted drones. Locals described Friday night’s strikes as more intense than the previous night’s assault.

Earlier that day, India accused Pakistan of unleashing up to 400 drones in a coordinated attack targeting cities, military bases, and religious sites across northern India. This accusation came as Pakistan’s military declared it would “not de-escalate with India.”

According to Indian officials, the first wave of drones appeared on Thursday evening, followed by a second barrage around dawn on Friday. These drones reportedly infiltrated deep into Indian-administered Kashmir, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Gujarat. India claimed it had successfully intercepted hundreds of the drones before they could inflict widespread damage.

In response, the Indian military launched four retaliatory drone strikes aimed at key Pakistani military defense infrastructure.

During a press briefing on Friday, Indian military officials stated that Thursday’s drone attacks had deliberately targeted religious sites, including a Sikh gurdwara, where one civilian was injured, as well as several Christian churches, signaling a dangerous escalation in the conflict.
