In a low-scoring Summer League showdown, Bronny James delivered his best offensive performance yet — but it wasn’t enough to secure a win for the Lakers.
James led Los Angeles with a team-high 17 points on Monday, July 14, at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. Despite his efforts, the Lakers fell short in a 67–58 loss to the Clippers.
The performance marked just the third time James has reached double digits in scoring this summer. He previously tallied 10 points against the Miami Heat on July 6 and dropped 14 against the New Orleans Pelicans on July 12. His other outings have been quieter — posting just two points against the Spurs on July 8, and eight points in a hyped matchup versus No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg and the Mavericks on July 10.
While the Lakers struggled overall, James’ showing was a bright spot in what has otherwise been a mixed Summer League run.
The Lakers dropped to 1–2 after a 67–58 loss to the Clippers on Monday in Las Vegas.
Bronny James led the Lakers with 17 points, his highest-scoring game of the Summer League so far.
He shot 6-for-10 from the field and hit 3-of-5 from three-point range.
James also added 5 rebounds and 5 assists in 24 minutes of play.
He committed 3 turnovers, picked up 1 foul, and recorded no steals or blocks.
The Clippers improved to 3–0, led by Jordan Miller’s game-high 19 points.
